Discipleship
Groups
Discipleship groups are small-sized groups (about 3-5) of the same gender aimed at cultivating spiritual friendships. They live by shared commitments and rhythms that nurture close relationships on the journey of being with Jesus, becoming like Him, and learning to do what He did.

Discipleship Groups:
• Are a place for the pursuit of God in the company of friends. They foster a close-knit spiritual community that allows us to know and be known by others, to be loved as we are, and to learn to accept the specific invitations to spiritual maturity God is holding out to us.
• Are primarily practice-based groups, rather than study groups. While Scripture is foundational to a group’s life and activity together, the primary purpose of a Discipleship Group is not to learn more about the Bible or do in-depth study. (This is a valuable mode of discipleship, but Bible studies and formation classes are better suited to this.)
• Foster transformation through life-on-life discipleship by living within these shared commitments: confidentiality, honesty, vulnerability, intentionality, charity, mutuality, and stability.
